Citizens are welcome and encouraged to attend regular LAFCO public hearings and state their views during public hearings on proposals before the Commission. In addition, the meetings provide an excellent opportunity for citizens to familiarize themselves with the growth, development and inter-jurisdictional issues facing their county.
The Commission meets at 9:30 a.m. typically on the fourth Thursday of each month at the Riverside County Administrative Center - Board of Supervisors Room. The hearings are advertised in the local newspaper and notices are mailed to affected registered voters and landowners. Copies of the meeting agendas, minutes ,and staff reports are available, and may be downloaded off of this web site.
At the LAFCO hearing, the Commission reviews the proposal, the staff report and public testimony and may adopt a resolution to approve or deny the proposal wholly or partially, with or without amendments or conditions.
